Bavarian BierHaus at The Curve, Petaling Jaya Part 3

I was expecting a bigger portion

If I’m not mistaken, this is the garden salad with ham strips, sadly no smoked salmon. There were no thick or creamy dressing for this green dish, rather they drenched it slightly with some sweet and sour mixture sauce. It tasted like any other salad, the greens were fresh, ham was okay and overall it did now wow me.

Sausages and patatoes

Here comes the main courses, we only ordered two big ones so that the four of us could share. Starting with the German sausages plus the side dish of potatoes, the sausages was just splendid with rich flavor and texture. For those who have soft teeth though, chewing on the sausages may come as a challenge.

Really impressive dish

For those who have not tasted German pork knuckle before, i would highly recommend this dish. If you look carefully there are 4 different food on the plate, the biggest lump is the knuckle, to the left of it is the pork chops and the sides of mash potatoes and sour vegetables. First i would comment on the pork chops, i swear they are the softest and tastiest i’ve had so far. Each bite basically melted in my mouth, too bad we’re sharing so i only had a few pieces. The knuckle now, it is a bit dry to it’s best to have eat mouth full with a dash of those sour vege to bring out the aroma and to give it a little moist on the tongue.

Do they make you feel any more German?I don't get the feel that the owner putting up various German related photos adds to the feel that you're in an authentic German restaurant. In any way they are making it to be more like an American joint or so, as my experiences in the States were restaurants with all have plenty of photos on their walls. I was expecting a bigger portionI was expecting a bigger portion

Ice Lemon Tea

Oops, forgot to mention that we ordered some drinks prior to the appetizers and main course. My brother and his pal ordered beer but i came to wonder why did i not shap those photos? The best explanation would be that they finished their glass before i could even take them, thumbs up for folks who can drink and who chose to drink the best, cheers!

Located at the outdoor food area of The Curve

For a few my friends who treat the Curve as one of their favorite outing areas, they still find it hard to locate certain restaurants at this food area between the Curve and eCurve mall. So it’s best not to arrange a date and suggest to meet up at one of the restaurants, better just put the spot at the front gate of the Curve instead.

You're not gonna miss that big sign

There’s always a time when we need to pamper ourselves with some good exotic food, preferably European or south-American for me. Since I bump into one of the former while I was walking around at the Curve, my tingling sense brought me right into this German restaurant. See the words Sausage and pork knuckle below the sign? We’re going for that very soon.

German Menu

The menu looks simple yet elegant, with most the names of their dishes in German, thank god they had some caption beneath them in English. All the descriptions are quiet satisfactory but we still called the waiter for further explanations, since the place will charge us the price of our regular 3 meals, we figured we should just use up the best of their service.

Pretty cozy environment

It was 6pm and with the dimmed setting of this place, it felt very comfortable sitting inside. I know you’re wondering why the place is so empty, probably cause people here just don’t eat until the end of movie time.

Will the pleas prevail over PPSMI?

Give the caveman a sweet and he will fall in love with it, deprive him of the sweet after some time and he will crave endlessly for it. You see, we will not miss the things that we have never experienced or been in contact with no matter how good the outcome they give. The same goes for PPSMI, the education authorities gave us the icing on the cake in the few years for implementing the teaching medium of English for science and mathematics. Now that they have retracted these elusive offer, that only makes people to want it even more. Their both the same theory right? Think about it, we Malaysians never really fought for the rights of our education subjects to be taught in English till the day it was really happening in our nation. Now that we have lost it, we deeply want it back because we know that it exists.

There's still no end to PPSMI arguments

The government should have understood the consequences of their action when they decided to give the English catalyst a ‘trial run’. Their sudden move to revert back to the conventional way of teaching was so bad it got dirt written all over it. They should have seen this coming before even conducting the plan in the first place, you see, how the hell are they going to handle the situation now?

The public, mostly parents are now seriously urging the government to give the opportunity of PPSMI to students out there. Some NGOs and association were even thinking of writing letters of appeal to the big man up there, whereas some resort to social media to spread the word out. The caveman is not stupid at all, when he knows there’s something out there, he will go all out to catch it.
